DISCLAIMER

and intellectual property rights

Our policy is very simple:

MADMAPPERS WILL NOT DISTRIBUTE MATERIAL TO THE PUBLIC UNLESS AUTHORIZATION HAS BEEN GRANTED IN WRITING BY THE AUTHOR/COPYRIGHT OWNERS.

This will disappoint a few persons who would like us to be in the pirate business.
We have too much at stake: we have lodged a number of applications for web distribution with organizations around the world and the last thing we want to do is to jeopardise their outcome by distributing data without permission.

Q: Why is the data listed?

The MM search engine searches for data in the MadMappers archives and displays the search results. This does not mean that the data is available for public distribution, quite the contrary. It simply means that data is stored in the MadMappers community archives.

Q: Is there a way I could access data which is not for public distribution?

Yes.
But only if you are participant in one of the many MadMappers' projects and you undertake to comply with all copyrights restrictions set by the author of the data. You will also have to satisfy the MadmMappers' project panel that
for the duration of the project any restricted data you may be given access to, will be securely stored, that, although you will be credited as being the author of your work, all output data will remain property of MadMappers and will not be used for any unauthorized purpose, particularly commercial.  Furthermore you will have to undertake to return or destroy upon completion of the project any restricted data you might have been granted access to.

Q: Can my project become a MadMappers' project?

Yes, as long as it is a non-commercial project, it is approved by the MadmMappers' projects panel and the standard conditions of data access are applied.

Q: What about software?

Normally software licences are limited to a single user. Although we can advise on software selection and propose freeware alternatives, you will be ultimately responsible to purchase the software required in a project. Use of illegal software will lead to immediate termination of the project. Sustainable Development cannot be based on cracks and illegal software!

Welcome to the MadMappers community!
